Coming out strong in 2026

Route 66 NHRA Nationals marked the opening event of Gutierrez Brothers Racing’s 2026 season, setting the stage for a highly anticipated return to NHRA competition. They also announced this year’s main sponsor as M1 Concourse. M1 Concourse is a motorsports destination in Pontiac, Michigan that is comprised of a private car condo community, performance road course, and event venues that host many festivals and car shows. Entering the weekend, the team’s focus was to continue building on the performance enhancing changes implemented at the end of the 2025 season. After being away from the track since September 2025, Gutierrez Brothers Racing delivered three consistent qualifying passes in the 5.30-second range.

By the end of qualifying, the team had secured the No. 12 spot on the ladder, setting up a first round matchup against Jamie Noonan. In eliminations, JP got the jump on Noonan at the starting line and held the advantage until the 660 foot mark before falling to the eventual event winner. With valuable data gained, Gutierrez Brothers Racing now turns its attention to the next event, Cavalcade of Stars at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.
